About The Muppets
After 11 years since the Muppets’ last big screen feature film, Walt Disney Pictures presents The Muppets. The film follows the adventures of the Muppets and their three fans to save their beloved theater from an avaricious oil tycoon.
Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the evil plan of oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to destroy the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater. And so,  Fozzie who  now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy who is now a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal who is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo who is a high-powered plumbing magnate reunite to save their beloved theater.
The Muppets cast includes Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal, Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Walter. The film is directed by James Bobin, the director/writer/EP for HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords.”  The producers are David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. The executive producers are Jason Segel, Nicholas Stoller and Martin G. Baker. The Muppets is written by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller.
