This November, SM
Cinema features five CinExclusive movies—DeadMine,
Chernobyl Diaries, Dorm Boys, Stolen and Paranormal
Romance.
Scare up Halloween fun
this month at SM Cinema with Dead Mine
and Chernobyl Diaries. Dead Mine is an action horror film,
opening this November 7. It follows a group of treasure hunters on a journey into
the depth of the Indonesian jungle to find the Yamashita gold, the almost
mythical treasure that has been a source of grand adventures in Southeast Asia,
only to find unspeakable terrors. The cast includes Carmen Soo, the
Malaysian-Chinese actress and model known to audiences in Malaysia, Singapore
and the Philippines for her appearances in popular TV dramas A Time for Us (2008) and The Pupil. Joe Taslim, who starred in
the CinExclusive The Raid: Redemption,
also stars in this film.
The horror continues in Chernobyl Diaries. This movie will take
the audience on a petrifying adventure with a group of adults to Pripyat, the
former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. Movie-goers will
surely get a great deal of thrill and scare in this horror film which uses the
real-life 1986 Chernobyl disaster as backdrop.
For fans who don’t want to get a big scare, they may
opt to watch *Dorm Boys. The film
revolves around a group of college students facing the four problems common among
students: money, parents, affairs of the heart and academics.
On November 21, Nicolas
Cage comes back to the big screen in the adrenalin-pumping film Stolen. Cage stars as a former thief,
Will Montgomery, who is released from prison for a bank robbery of $10 million.
And his daughter whom he didn’t see for eight years has been kidnapped by his
old partner who demands a $10 million ransom.
Have a post-Halloween
fun with the Cebuano film My Paranormal Romance, a romantic comedy
with a horror twist. The film is about the
brainy Merry who has been given a mythical object that makes her a magnet to
everything paranormal. It is slated to open at SM Cinema Cebu and Consolacion on
November 28.
