One Piece Z Cosplay Event at SM Mall of Asia

SM Cinema, in partnership with Pioneer Films and UP AME (University of the Philippines Anime and Manga Enthusiasts), will hold a One Piece Cosplay event at the Mall of Asia Music Hall tomorrow, April 29, 2013. There are 2 categories for the Cosplay, the One Piece category and the free category. Registration starts at 10:00am on April 29. There will be other fun activities as well. The winners in the Cosplay and other contests will receive freebies and will be invited to the advance screening of the film which will happen right after the event.

About One Piece Z

Zephyr, now known as Z, rides the seas with only one goal: Destroy all pirates and their dreams at becoming King of Pirates. When Luffy and his crew encounter him at sea, not only are they utterly defeated by the man with an arm made of sea stone, Nami, Robin, and Chopper are turned 10 years younger due to Z's minion Ain. Luffy is so determined to win against him that he does not even notice Z's master plan that could sacrifice thousands of lives.

1. Any individual may join the contest. Entries should be submitted to smcinema.onepiecez@gmail.com.

4. Your artwork will be uploaded on our Facebook Page.

How do I win?

1. There will be 10 winners of the contest; we’ll have a set of judges who will decide the winners.

What to Submit: Entry Specifications

1. Each entry must include one or more characters from the One Piece Z movie or anime series.
2. Each entry must be submitted as a digital image format of .jpeg or .png, with dimensions of 9”x 11”.
3. Submissions may be in portrait or landscape,with or without margins.
4. Either traditional or digital mediums may be used.
5. Entries may be colored, gray scale, black and white, or monotone.
6. Entries MUST BE AN ORIGINAL artwork of the registered contestant. If proven that the entry is not an original artwork,contestant and entry are disqualified.
7. Only one entry per contest is allowed per registered contestant.

IMAX Mall of Asia opens 24-Hours for IRON MAN 3

The IMAX Theatre at SM Mall of Asia opens on a 24-hour schedule for 1 week, from 12:05AM of April 24 to 10:00PM of May 1, for “Iron Man 3.”  Movie-goers can experience the film in IMAX 3D.

The Starbucks and Gerry's Grill entrances at SM Mall of Asia will remain open for movie-goers. The mall will also not charge for overnight fees. Regular parking fees will apply even to those who will be watching at dawn. They just have to present the IMAX Iron Man 3 tickets to the parking cashier on their way out.

To avoid long lines, Iron Man fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance. Those who buy tickets before the opening day get IMAX key chains for free. e-PLUS cardholders earn triple points for every  ticket purchased using their e-PLUS cards. Those who buy tickets online in advance get a chance to win TCL LED TV units. Tickets are now available at the ticket booth and at www.smcinema.com.

Anime Invades SM Cinema

Get ready for the ultimate animation invasion with 3 big anime movies showing exclusively at SM Cinema this summer!

On April 9, Naruto: Road to Ninja will have a special advance screening which will be opened to the public. May 1 marks the opening of One Piece Z. Two days before the opening, SM Cinema together with Pioneer films and UP AME, will hold a Cosplay event at the Mall of Asia. There's no final release date for Hunter X Hunter yet, but this movie will be shown in all SM Cinema branches nationwide as well.

The 7th IMAX Theatre in the Country Rises at SM Aura Premier

On May 17, the 7^th IMAX Theatre in the Philippines will open at SM Aura Premier, the country’s first commercial center certified by the US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (USGBC LEED) which is located at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The new IMAX Theatre is under the management of West Avenue Theatres Corporation, which also manages the country’s leading film exhibitor SM Cinema. IMAX Aura will be the 7^th IMAX Theatre in the Philippines and the 4^th one in Metro Manila. 

The IMAX Theatre at SM Aura Premier is designed to fill one’s field of vision and engulf one in sound so powerful that it is almost tangible. The screen is several times larger than the screen of the standard theater, delivering an image so large that it fills one’s entire field of view.  The screen is slightly curved and the seats are angled to allow audience to have an unobstructed view of what they are watching. It also employs surround speakers for a more realistic sound experience.

Aside from an IMAX Theatre, SM Aura Premier will also house 2 Director’s Club and 2 digital cinemas. A private opening will be held on May 16 with members of the Press and VIPs as guests.
