The Bourne Legacy: Now Screening at SM Cinema

The Bourne series continues in the adrenaline-pumping action film The Bourne Legacy. This time, Jeremy Renner carries the torch formerly held by Matt Damon.  The 4th film in the popular espionage franchise opened on August 8, 2012. Solar-UIP, in cooperation with SM Cinema, holds the Press and VIP screening of the film tonight at 7:30pm at the Cinema 1 of SM Mall of Asia.
SM Cinema gave out a Spy Wine Cooler for every ticket purchased at selected SM Cinema branches from August 1 to 7. Also, select branches gave free Go Nuts Donuts to patrons who watched the first screenings.
About The Bourne Legacy
The Bourne Legacy has been a hugely popular espionage franchise, earning almost $1 billion at the global box office. Unlike the first three movies in the series, The Bourne Legacy is not based on Robert Ludlum’s novels, though the story explores the Bourne universe created by Ludlum. Like in the previous Bourne films, this one also takes the audience to the world of spies, operatives and unstoppable killing machines in the form of CIA assassins. The events in The Bourne Legacy have been triggered by the previous films in the franchise, but new characters are introduced in this 4th installment.
The latest Bourne film features Aaron Cross, played by Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), an Operation Outcome agent who escapes from execution when CIA decides to dispose of their other black ops programs in the wake of Jason Bourne's dismemberment of Operation Blackbriar. The cast includes Rachel Weisz, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, Albert Finney and Edward Norton as the villain. The film is directed by Tony Gilroy.  The screenplay is by Tony Gilroy and Dan Gilroy based on the story by Tony Gilroy.
Around 40% of the scenes were shot in the Philippines, mostly in Manila like Binondo, San Andres, Intramuros, Navotas fish port and several locations in the city. There are also scenes that were shot in the celebrated Puerto Princesa Underground River and El Nido. Several subway stations and nearby areas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea were used in some scenes.
The Bourne Legacy delivers hyper-realistic fighting scenes like its predecessors – no gimmicks and high tech gadgets, and less usage of CGI.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has given the film a PG13 rating.
