Real-Life Navy SEALs in One Heroic Act of Valor: Screening Exclusively at SM Cinema

The Navy SEAL is one of the most elite military units in the world and its members are among the most valiant people on Earth. We can witness their act of loyalty, honor and courage in SM Cinema’s CinExclusive Act of Valor, which opened on July 11, 2012.

Act of Valor is directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh from a screenplay by Kurt Johnstad. The film stars Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sánchez, Nestor Serrano, Emilio Rivera, and active duty U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen.

In Act of Valor, the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative brings to light a deadly terrorist plot against the US. A team of SEALs is dispatched to stop the terrorists. But each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the deadly terror plot, which reaches Chechnya, Ukraine and Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border, where they engage in an epic firefight with an outcome that has potentially unimaginable consequences for the future of America

The film is an unprecedented blend of real-life heroism and original film-making. It is a powerful story of contemporary global anti-terrorism. Inspired by true events, the film combines stunning combat sequences, up-to-the minute battlefield technology and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure. Act of Valor takes audiences deep into the secretive world of the most elite, highly trained group of warriors in the modern world.

According to Waugh, the US Navy SEALs were given free rein to decide what was real and authentic. "For example, the way they speak in the movie is the way they speak in real life”, Waugh said. "We tried to keep it authentic because we want the audience to experience what it's like to be in their world. When we gave dialogue to them, they would often tell us, no, I'd say it like this. And what they would say was much better than what we had written”, Waugh added.

The film is distributed by Pioneer Films. The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has given the film an R13 rating. SM Cinema gives 50% discount on tickets for e-PLUS members.  SM Advantage Card, Prestige Card, BDO Rewards Card and Global Pinoy Card holders can enjoy 20% off on tickets for this film.
