SM Cinema Surprised Fans with Marvel’s The Avengers Midnight Screening & Promos

SM Cinema held a midnight screening of The Avengers in its IMAX Digital Theatres (IMAX North EDSA, IMAX Southmall and IMAX Cebu) on April 25, 2012 at 12:05AM. IMAX gave away Marvel's The Avengers poster for midnight ticket holders.  On top of this, SM Cinema also offered several promos to its loyal patrons and The Avengers fans.

The Avengers hits Philippine theaters today, April 25, 9 days ahead of the US release date, which is on May 4. SM Cinema prepared a lot of surprises for fans.

Without a doubt, Marvel’s The Avengers is going to be one of the biggest box office smashes of this year. This does not come as a big surprise given the fact that The Avengers is one of the largest super-hero teams in the comic world.  

SM Cinema opened 232 of its screens, including the IMAX Digital Theatres, for The Avengers starting from April 25 to May 1, 2012.    

 

SM Cinema has several promos for one of this year’s surefire blockbuster.  There’s the Top Ten Spenders Promo, in which the top ten online purchasers of movie tickets to The Avengers automatically get one Devant LEDtech LCD TV each.  

 SM Cinema also has an online promo where fans get the chance to win The Avengers premium items for answering the movie question correctly.  The mechanic is simple; they just have to log on to the promo page of SM Cinema’s website (www.smcinema.com), register and then answer the movie question.

 

 

In cooperation with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Philippines, SM Cinema gave Marvel’s Avengers Alliance gamers the chance to automatically earn 1000 Silver coin bonus by becoming a fan of SM Cinema’s Facebook Page and clicking the link for the game on its Facebook Wall. 

 

There’s also the Lucky Seats Promo where IMAX movie-goers who sit on the lucky seats win Asus items.  The prizes include wireless routers, O! Play Media Players and all in one PC. Everyone who watches the film at the IMAX Digital Theatres (IMAX North EDSA, IMAX Southmall or IMAX Cebu) can join the promo.

SM Cinema’s IMAX also gives away Marvel’s The Avengers keychain for every three movie ticket purchase using a VISA card at IMAX Theatres. 

 About The Avengers

Marvel’s The Avengers, titled Avengers Assemble in some countries, features iconic Marvel Superheroes namely Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures. The Avengers is rated PG 13 by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). It will be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D starting April 25.

SM Cinema Hosted the Press and VIP Screening of Battleship

April 12, 2012--SM Cinema, in cooperation with Solar-UIP, hosted the Press and VIP screening of Battleship on April 10, 2012 at 7:30 PM at the Cinema 10 of SM North EDSA. The event was attended by VIPs, theatre industry partners, brand partners and other special guests.

SM Cinema started selling tickets in advance for this film on March 26. It also offers several promos for the movie. For 2 tickets purchased, one gets Belo Men Whitening Soap. SM Cinema also has Facebook promo in which fans have to share their hero’s stories to get the chance to win Battleship Premium items.

SM Cinema launches e-PLUS Card, the most convenient access to movie-watching

Watching movies gets even more convenient, rewarding, and fun as SM Cinema launches e-PLUS Card, its newest re-loadable card on April 11, 2011 at SM Megamall Cinema 3.

e-PLUS, which stands for Entertainment, Privileges, Lifestyle, Upgrades and Surprises, allows moviegoers to load credits on the prepaid card and easily upgrade it to a loyalty card for free. By upgrading it, cardholders can earn reward points for every use at any SM Cinema and Snacktime branch. The rewards are easily redeemable at e-PLUS booths available in all SM Cinema nationwide.
