SM Cinema’s latest branch – SM Cinema Olongapo – launches with three (3) digital theaters which can show both 2D and 3D movies. With a total of 769 seating capacity, all theaters are equipped with state-of-the-art facility. The theaters boast of cozy all-fabric seats and giant movie screens for high-definition and crystal-clear imagery.

SM Cinema Olongapo opens this February 10, 2012 with a line-up of exciting films. Blockbuster movies The Vow, Safe House and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in 3D will be screened on its opening week. Free SM Cinema eco bags or SM Cinema ballers will be given to the first 1,000 customers who will be watching the movies with us on the opening day. And from February 10 to 12, SM Cinema Olongapo patrons get to have their pictures taken with our on-site photo souvenir booth —free of charge.

SM Digital Theater - the FIRST TRUE digital cinema in the Philippines - opened its doors to the public in 2007 at The Block SM City North EDSA with Beowulf 3D as its first movie shown. Since then, SM Digital Theater opened up opportunities for 3D cinema and featured some of the biggest 3D movies like Up, A Christmas Carol, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Avatar, Clash of the Titans, Shrek Forever After, Despicable Me and Megamind among others, giving patrons a whole new experience to movie watching. Joe, Wolfman, Inception, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, X-Men First Class, Fast 5, Missio: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, among others. The noticeable difference between the movies shown in the digital theater and the standard 35mm is the unparalleled clarity of image display the former delivers.

SM Digital Theater took a giant leap ahead of the digital pack when it became the first cinema to bring in the cutting-edge motion effect seat simulators in 2009. Cinemobile expands mobile phone-entertainment experience by taking your mobile phone’s capability to the next level. SM Cinema is the only cinema that delivers your movie ticket straight to your mobile phone anytime, anywhere. Introduced in November 2010, Cinemobile allows you to scan an e-ticket message sent to your phone via SMS. It reads the unique BCode (short for bar code) and prints your ticket instantly. What’s amazing about Cinemobile is that it utilizes alpha numeric codes on an SMS platform allowing any mobile phone to enjoy this feature. With these, Cinemobile paves the way for the ultimate cinematic convenience.
